Dear Lions,
I am so happy to welcome you to LMU and have you in our wonderful community!
Student Affairs staff are here to support all of you. Our team takes great pride and responsibility in working with each of you and your development as you progress through your LMU journey. Be on the lookout for important communications from Student Affairs to you; next week you will receive another communication from the Dean of Students Terri Mangione. I encourage you to make time to read these communications carefully because they will include important updates for you.
I would love to meet you and get to know each of you and your stories. I urge you to lean in and learn about each other’s stories. Avoid making assumptions about other’s stories before you actually get to know them. Engage in dialogue across differences. And I hope you come to appreciate that your individual story makes up the collective LMU community narrative.
Know that being part of the LMU community is coming together and showing our LMU pride:
- Wellness Wednesday: Join me tomorrow, Aug. 31 at Wellness Wednesday on Regents Grass starting at 11 a.m. I will be in the “Doctor Is In” booth ready to meet you and answer your questions about the fall semester.
- Lion Pride Fridays: Join Student Affairs staff and I as we celebrate Lion Pride Fridays by sporting our favorite LMU gear!
- Find Your Community: The start of the new semester offers so many events and ways to connect with your fellow Lions. Visit the Student EXP hub for upcoming events,
- Stay Connected: Follow me on Instagram @drkawannalmu and Twitter @SVP_DrK.
I look forward to meeting and welcoming you to the LMU community!
Go Lions!
