Dear Lions,
Welcome to an exciting academic year at Loyola Marymount University! Whether you’re stepping onto campus for the first time or returning for another year, I’m thrilled to greet you as your GSLMU president.
Over the summer, your student body government leadership team has been hard at work, laying the groundwork to ensure that this year is nothing short of extraordinary. Our efforts have been guided by LMU’s Strategic Plan, which inspires us to create the world we want to live in. This is more than just a phrase: It’s a call to action. We have a wealth of resources on campus, and I encourage you to embrace them as tools to empower yourselves and your communities.
As graduate students, we form a unique and vital community within the university. I am deeply committed to serving this community and ensuring that we all have an unforgettable and enriching experience this year. For those of you who are new, I understand how overwhelming the start of a new journey can be. I want you to know that you’re not alone. Our school is a supportive environment, and if you ask, you will be helped. The sense of unwavering support here is something that sets our university apart, and it’s something you can count on throughout the year.
My administration’s vision is to provide holistic support to all our peers, focusing on creating opportunities that serve the diverse needs of our graduate student population. One such opportunity is our upcoming professional headshot event on Saturday, Sept. 21. We’ve partnered with the Career and Professional Development (CPD) office to schedule this event, offering two options for taking digital brand and lifestyle professional photos. I encourage you to take advantage of this event and others throughout the year.
Stay informed by checking your Lion emails regularly and following us on Instagram for updates and current events. I’m excited to see what we can achieve together this year. Let’s make it one to remember! Go Lions!
Be well,
Jasmine Nichole
GSLMU President, 2024-25
