Loyola Marymount University will co-host a virtual ribbon cutting on Friday, Aug. 11, to unveil the Metaversity Campus digital twin. In partnership with and through grant funding from VictoryXR, LMU has been developing programming that may offer virtual reality experiences for online classes in a metaversity setting with virtual classrooms and lab environments.
The virtual ribbon cutting will provide attendees with the opportunity to take a virtual tour of the space and learn more about existing and upcoming VR programming with LMU faculty and staff. Speakers will include Executive Vice President and Provost Thomas Poon, VictoryXR CEO Steve Grubbs, Vice President for Mission and Ministry John Sebastian, Faculty Senate President Leon Wiebers, and Head of Archives and Special Collections Cynthia Becht.
To view the ribbon cutting, join the Facebook live event on Friday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. PDT.
