UNIVERSITY BULLETINS | Third party electric scooters, such as those operated by Bird and Lime, are prevalent in the neighborhoods and communities surrounding LMU. As a result, the university will establish a committee during the Fall semester to determine whether third party scooters should be permitted to operate on campus. The committee will consist of representatives from faculty, staff and student organizations, as well as key business units, and will assess potential benefits, community concerns and safety issues of such scooters in a campus environment. The committee will ultimately make policy recommendations to university leadership. In the meantime, LMU’s Personal Transportation Policy prohibits the use of third party electric scooters on LMU property at any time. Personally owned electric scooters are still allowed on campus in accordance with existing rules. Please contact the Department of Public Safety for any questions about this policy.
