LMU recently welcomed Staci Asai to the bluff, as the university’s new Director of Conference and Event Services within University Events.
After the restructuring of Conference and Event Services, previously announced in Dec. 2024, Asai joined the team to fill the opening left by department veteran Trish Carlson’s promotion into her new position as senior director of signature events.
Under the new structure, Carlson will exclusively handle signature events such as Presidential Events, Commencement, and L.A. Rams Training Camp, while Asai will oversee event services and management, business operations, and all efforts related to the department’s strategic plan. As director she will also enhance client (faculty, staff, students, and guests) satisfaction, process efficiency, and create purposeful revenue for the university.
Asai brings over a decade of event operational and management experience to LMU, including her most recent stint at USC, where she served for six years as assistant director of event operations and executive sales. In her previous role, Asai managed the sales and operations of campus events ranging from small meetings to high-profile university events, exceeding over $14 million in annual revenue.
