Annual Fire Alarm Testing: Dec. 15 – 29
This annual REG 4 testing will include alarms, strobes, doors, and elevators. The testing will run campus-wide, in all university buildings.
Seaver Elevator Modernization: Dec. 15 – Jan. 10
The elevator in Seaver Science Hall will undergo modernization efforts. The elevator will be offline during this time; if you require ADA accommodations, please speak with your supervisor.
Walking Path Repairs: Dec. 22 – Jan. 9
Trip and fall hazards will be minimized across campus. Pedestrian paths may have intermittent fencing while work is completed.
LMU Drive Sewer Maintenance: Dec. 22
The city of Los Angeles will perform routine work near the LMU Drive entrance, between 10 a.m. – noon. The entrance will still be operational, but down to one lane during these hours.
University Hall Coral Tree Removal and Replanting: Dec. 26 – Jan. 10
The existing coral tree outside of University Hall requires removal due to safety. The tree will be removed on Dec. 26, with a new coral tree planted on Dec. 27. Additional shrubbery and florals will be planted between Jan. 5 – 10.
University Hall HVAC Repairs: Dec. 26 – Dec. 29
The University Hall HVAC system undergo routine maintenance. UHall will not have A/C between Dec. 26 – 29.
Parking Garage Cleaning: Dec. 27
All parking garages will be swept and cleaned. Garages will remain open during work, and there is no need to move your vehicle – FM can sweep around parked cars.
Campus Power Outage: Dec 29 between 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This power outage will be campus-wide, impacting all buildings except the LMU Children’s Center and Hannon Apartments. University Hall will have power out between 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., with upper campus scheduled for 7:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
If possible, please unplug electronics like computers, printers, phone and laptop chargers, coffee makers, microwaves, and water coolers. This helps conserve “ghost” electricity, and prevents any damage from occurring during the outage.
LeVecke Bridge Doors Replacement Jan. 7 – Jan. 10
The University Hall entrance doors on the LeVecke Bridge will be replaced by automatic sliding doors. The bridge will be inaccessible during this time; signage will direct pedestrians toward alternate entry points.
