Take action before Friday, May 12 to continue medical coverage. Our switch back to Anthem requires all Aetna members to enroll in a new medical plan. Don’t miss your one opportunity to choose the right medical plan for you and your family! This Mid-Cycle Open Enrollment period is your chance to reevaluate your medical options and select the coverage that meets your and your family’s needs.
IMPORTANT! Aetna members who do not make a selection during this Mid-Cycle Open Enrollment period will not have any medical coverage through the University for the remainder of 2023.
If you are enrolled in a Kaiser plan and do not make a selection during this Mid-Cycle Open Enrollment period, your coverage will remain unchanged. All faculty and staff have the opportunity to enroll in an Anthem plan during this Mid-Cycle Open Enrollment period, including those who previously elected to waive medical coverage.
Making the Change Back to Anthem Plans
We are offering the same Anthem plans that were available before we switched to Aetna:
- The Anthem Blue Cross PPO Plan (formerly the Aetna Managed Choice POS)
- The Anthem Advantage HMO (formerly the Aetna HMO)
- The Anthem Blue Cross HealthSave Plan (formerly the Aetna Managed Choice POS HDHP)
The Anthem plans will provide similar benefits and coverage that they previously provided in 2022. The cost of coverage in an Anthem plan will be higher, but rates will not increase in 2024.
Aetna members may also choose to enroll in the Kaiser HMO.
For details about each plan, see the updated A Guide to Your 2023 LMU mybenefits guide and A Comparison of Your 2023 LMU mybenefits chart, both available here.
