National Transfer Week is celebrated around the nation each year during the third week of October. With over 600 students transferring from community colleges and other four-year institutions each year, we want to celebrate everything these students bring to the LMU community.

Margaux Bastian ’23 transferred to LMU as part of the Transfer Pathway Program during a time when she was not sure what she wanted to pursue. She currently serves as the vice president for both the International Business Society and the Business Law Society, with her favorite being the Business Law Society because she feels like it does a lot to help educate students on their pathways after LMU. She’s found success as a student by, “making lifelong connections, joining clubs and community groups has led me to meet people who are some of my closest friends and helped me to make a difference for the communities I’m a member in,” said Bastian. Last year, Bastian also lived in the Transfer Living Learning Community, which helped her meet people who really helped support her first year on-campus. “I’ve stayed in contact with some and they have been a huge support network for me.” Her advice to incoming transfer students, “get involved the community at LMU, it’s welcoming and offers countless opportunities to those who are willing to take them.”
