Tracee Passeggi, J.D., has joined Loyola Marymount University as associate vice provost for Career and Professional Development, bringing more than 20 years of higher education leadership experience spanning career services, student success, disability services, and intercollegiate athletics.
Passeggi comes to LMU from Cal Poly Pomona, where she served as director of the Career Center and helped make career development a more integrated part of the student experience. She worked with faculty, academic leaders, employers, alumni, and community partners to connect career readiness with academics and experiential learning.
At LMU, Passeggi will lead Career and Professional Development, focusing on strengthening connections among students, faculty, staff, employers, and alumni. Her work will help students engage with career development throughout their time at LMU, from early exploration and professional skill-building to internships, employer connections, and preparation for life after graduation.
“Tracee brings the experience and perspective to help us think more broadly about how career development supports the student experience at LMU,” said Maureen P. Weatherall, Ed.D., vice provost for Enrollment Management and Academic Engagement. “She understands that career preparation is strongest when it connects with what students are learning and experiencing throughout their time here. I am excited to have her leadership as we help students engage with career development earlier, gain meaningful experience, and prepare with confidence for what comes after LMU.”
Passeggi’s experience spans several areas of higher education. Before leading Cal Poly Pomona’s Career Center, she served as director of the university’s Disability Resource Center, where she oversaw organizational growth, expanded services, and strengthened partnerships supporting access and student success. Earlier, she held senior leadership positions in NCAA Division I and II athletics administration, with experience in strategic planning, enrollment management, compliance, and student support.
Her leadership has also extended beyond her primary roles through committee service spanning Cal Poly Pomona, the California State University system, and the NCAA. Passeggi earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oregon School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in history from San Francisco State University. Passeggi sees career development as something that should be woven throughout a student’s university experience.
“I am excited to join LMU and work with students, faculty, staff, employers, and alumni to make career development an integral part of the student experience,” Passeggi said. “When students start exploring possibilities early and connect what they are learning with real experiences and relationships, they are better prepared to make thoughtful decisions about what comes next.”
Passeggi’s appointment supports LMU’s continued focus on connecting students’ education with what comes next. Career and Professional Development helps students gain experience, build professional relationships, explore possibilities, and translate what they learn at LMU into meaningful careers and lives of purpose.
