For several weeks, LMU leadership has received messages of support from community members advocating for increased compensation for Facilities Management workers. Yesterday, a group of students, faculty, and staff gathered on LMU’s Westchester campus to demonstrate and to urge the community to stand with them.
University leadership shares the following updates:
- President Snyder has directed university leadership to evaluate data specific to Facilities Management workers to ensure that support for their service continues to be reflected in our actions.
- LMU is conducting a comprehensive compensation study and will take additional steps as appropriate based on this assessment.
LMU is a non-profit university with finite resources. Despite challenges, the university endeavors to do right by its community members and encourages open dialogue. During the past year, the university has provided increases in salaries through one-time distributions and permanent raises.
While the university gathers data and evaluates next steps, leadership affirms:
- We are listening. We are reviewing your messages, and we understand your concerns.
- We honor our FM workers as valued and vital community members.
- We remain committed to our Facilities Management—and to all—of our workers.
- We will share additional updates this summer.
