LMU STRATEGIC PLANNING | LMU’s Planning Advisory Council will begin meeting this week to oversee the implementation of the strategic plan and to begin the process of reviewing and providing feedback on the new plan’s five spotlight initiatives.
As specified in the strategic plan, five spotlight implementation teams met over the summer to study the goals, objectives and actions specified for each initiative and to propose appropriate metrics, targets, and detailed action plans to help realize the goals. The report is in two parts: Part One: Proposed Metrics and Targets, describes the measurements and outcomes proposed for each spotlight initiative goal and in particular the key performance indicators (KPIs) that will determine our degree of success; and Part Two: Detailed Action Plans, elaborates on each objective and action in the Board-approved plan to propose more specifically how they can be realized in a way that ensures successful completion of the goals for each spotlight.
The five teams were led by Jennifer Abe, vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion (Learning for Justice, Inclusion, and Transformation); Madhu Viswanathan, professor of marketing (Integrative and Interdisciplinary Thinking); Jennifer Belichesky-Larson, assistant vice provost for special initiatives (Personalized Connections); David Sapp, vice provost for academic affairs and dean of graduate studies (Discovery and Innovation in Graduate and Professional Education); and Maureen Weatherall, vice provost for enrollment management (Access LMU).
John Parrish, chief of staff and special assistant to the president and professor of political science, will serve as chair of the Planning Advisory Council. The council members will include senior administrative leaders as well as faculty, staff, and student representatives.
The spotlight team leaders will also be engaging with the President’s Cabinet, Deans Council, Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, leaders of ASLMU and GSLMU, and other university committees and groups, to answer questions and obtain input about the proposed implementation plans.
Community members who wish to offer feedback about the plan may do so at strategicplanning@lmu.edu.
