For the eighth consecutive year, Loyola Marymount University has been named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Transfer Honor Roll, which recognizes four-year colleges and universities for creating dynamic pathways to support transfer students.

LMU is one of 208 colleges and universities across the country to receive the honor in 2023. Applicants are evaluated in the areas of scholarship and financial aid, admissions outreach, student support services, and bachelor’s degree completion for students who transfer to LMU.
“Every year it is a tremendous honor to have our transfer efforts recognized at the national level by PTK,” said Thomas Gutto, associate vice provost for undergraduate enrollment at LMU. “We are a better institution because of our emphasis on transfer enrollment as these students enliven our mission, and make LMU a better place.”
Phi Theta Kappa President and CEO Lynn Tincher-Ladner reflects that while the goal of most students attending community college is a bachelor’s degree, few achieve it, citing financial barriers and the complexities of the transfer process. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students,” she added.
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. The Society is made up of more than 3.8 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in ten countries. Learn more at ptk.org.
