Loyola Marymount University is working toward earning a Green Business Certification within Los Angeles. As part of the certification process, LMU is being visited by a consultant who is calling on offices on campus to get them Green Business Certified, which is an important sustainability effort that will benefit LMU positively as we become more eco-friendly, and part of that includes a focus on Green Energy.
To receive certification, it is required that messaging to a large portion of the LMU community that suggests employees look into renewable energy options for their homes.
Because clean energy costs a little bit more, a typical bill for residents and small businesses will go up by approximately 3%, or about $3 for every $100 of electricity charges. A user could offset this cost by turning up the thermostat a couple of degrees in the summer. Please consult with local energy providers to find out which sustainable energy swaps are available.
