
LOS ANGELES RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CONGRESS
This March, LMU will attend and sponsor a number of activities at the annual Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, the largest annual gathering of its kind in the world. The multi-day event is held at the Anaheim Convention Center and hosted by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Office of Religious Education. Please join the Center and colleagues from across the university in Anaheim, March 22-24:

This day is designed to support those people who want to increase their effectiveness in the accompaniment and care of the sick and their families as well as for those who seek their own personal growth in this area.
Workshop: “Therapeutic Aspects of Meditation and Intro to Yoga Nidra” with Dr. Richard Miller
Saturday-Sunday, March 16-17 @ LMU University Hall
Dr. Miller will present in-depth direct and progressive teachings drawn from the wisdom traditions of Samkhya, Patañjali, Advaita and Kashmir Nondualism. These teachings form the basis of the research-based program of meditation that he has developed.
Workshop: “Yoga and Body Image: Understanding the Body’s Relationship to Privilege and Oppression in Yoga Culture” with Kimberly Dark

This workshop explores the intersections of personal and cultural messages and perceptions regarding “body identity” in yoga culture.
