Dear Colleagues,
We hope this email finds you well. As President-Elect Poon stated in his recent announcement, we are honored to be co-chairing the search committee for the next Executive Vice President & Provost. This is an important moment for LMU and we are excited to partner with the campus community in this search. Your insights, experiences, and ideas will be essential to recruiting a visionary leader who will help guide LMU into the future. We deeply value your commitment and look forward to collaborating with you throughout this process.
The opportunity to collaborate begins shortly. Below are the dates and times for upcoming virtual forums. These sessions are an opportunity to share your thoughts on the leadership qualities, skills, experiences, and personal attributes you believe are most important for our next EVP & Provost.
The forums will be facilitated by Elaine Peters, Executive Recruiter. Elaine is a distinguished leader in executive recruitment with a proven track record of identifying and securing top-tier leadership talent with a particular expertise in higher education. With over 20 years of experience, Elaine has built a reputation for strategic vision, discretion, and a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and leadership needs. We are thrilled to be working with Elaine in her new capacity as LMU’s Executive Recruiter.
Please attend only one session – the one that corresponds to your group or affiliation. If you’re unable to join your designated session, you’re welcome to attend one of the general sessions instead (listed below). Registration is required.

Questions to reflect upon for discussion during the listening session:
- What skills and qualities do you believe are most essential for a successful Executive Vice President & Provost?
- In your view, what are the most significant opportunities and challenges the next EVP & Provost will face?
- What should be the top priorities for this leader in their first year at LMU?
- What background, experience, or professional trajectory would you consider ideal for a candidate in this role?
- Other input?
We understand that you might not be able to attend one of our virtual forums—or that you may have more insights you’d like to share, therefore, a short survey is available for you to provide your input here.
We also welcome candidate nominations, which can be sent directly to Elaine Peters at ExecutiveSearch@lmu.edu.
Thank you for being an active part of this important process!
