As the calendar flips to 2024, LMU’s anti-racism efforts continue. The culture at LMU culture is stronger when staff, faculty, and students feel seen, that they belong, and that their identities and well-being are respected.
When the U.S. Supreme Court made the decision last year to end race-conscious admission programs at colleges and universities, President Snyder reaffirmed LMU’s commitment to providing equal access to education for all students, regardless of race.
Each of us brings a diverse set of perspectives, life experiences, a range of ages, gender identities, ethnicities, religions, disabilities, sexual orientations, as well as religious and cultural differences. LMU’s DEI office provides opportunities to explore and celebrate these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
Settling for tolerance should not be the goal; learning to appreciate and see value in people’s differences is how we create a culture and climate of inclusive excellence. The DEI office enthusiastically invites all staff, faculty, and students to continue this journey and sign up for upcoming workshops:
- Transformation Today Workshops
- LMU Anti-Racism Workshop Series (LAWS) retreats
- Affinity Group Alliance Registration Retreat 2024 (Part 1)
