Founded in 2011, the campus-wide Emergency Response Team (ERT) serves a critical function in the university’s overall preparedness for large-scale emergencies and disasters.
Through hands-on trainings, exercises, drills and more, ERT members are equipped with the knowledge and skills to help support life-saving response efforts, should the need arise. This may include earthquakes, power outages, active threats, fires, and other unforeseen emergencies.
After receiving training, ERT members help relay preparedness information to their respective teams, departments, and buildings. Members also have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers and first responders with emergency response field expertise.
The 2024-25 Emergency Response Team is open to all LMU staff, faculty, and students. Members are accepted on a rolling basis, with an orientation held once every semester.
New or interested members are encouraged to attend the orientation on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. in Foley Annex. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
