MISSION AND MINISTRY | Each year, the Companions in Mission program, sponsored by Mission and Ministry, accompanies a cohort of faculty and staff in learning more about LMU’s history and mission, as well as the fundamentals of Ignatian spirituality and pedagogy and how they shape the education we offer at this institution.
Have you ever wondered what it means for LMU to be a Catholic, Jesuit, Marymount university?
Do you want to know more about the relationship between our history, identity, and mission, and what those things mean for you, personally?
Are you interested in getting to know colleagues from across the university and taking time for reflection, discussion, and community?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, apply now. Companions in Mission provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding of LMU’s identity and our own relationship to it, to set aside time for reflection and discernment, and to form and strengthen relationships with colleagues across the university.
The program consists of roughly once-a-month weekday lunchtime gatherings during the fall and spring, as well as three weekend reflective engagements over the course of the year (half-day or overnight). There is no cost to participate, and all materials, meals, and program fees are covered by Mission and Ministry.
Anyone interested in learning more about our institution’s history, the tradition in which we are rooted and to which we contribute, and the vision of education our mission describes, is invited to apply for the 2021-22 cohort. To learn more about the program and to submit your application, visit the Companions in Mission website.
Applications will be accepted through Aug. 31, 2021. For more information or to discuss the program in more detail, contact Kat Brown, director of Mission and Identity Programs, at Katherine.Brown@lmu.edu.
