Today, Sept. 20, marks National Voter Registration Day, a nonpartisan civic holiday where across the country citizens are encouraged to get ready for the upcoming Midterm elections by registering to vote. LMU is launching a new hub website to help the community get registered to vote, research your ballot, engage in civic action, attend events and share stories at lmu.edu/vote.
For many students, their first time voting is during their time on campus. LMU partners with TurboVote to make the voting process simple. When you sign up with TurboVote, you’ll be able to access everything you need to:
- Register to vote;
- Request an absentee ballot;
- Subscribe to alerts for local, state and national elections.
TurboVote is available to all LMU students, faculty, and staff. Sign up now to get ready to vote on Nov. 8.
National Voter Registration Day is recognized across the United States and uses the strength of volunteers, organizations and businesses to spread the word about the importance of preparing for Election Day by registering to vote. Today is an opportunity to start your civic engagement by getting prepared to participate in our unique form of democracy.
Celebrate the day with us by grabbing some donuts, LMU swag, and registering to vote. Student Affairs staff will be out on Alumni Mall from 9 a.m. to noon to hand out free Randy’s Donuts to the first 100 people who show they are registered to TurboVote.
