As part of the transition back to Anthem, any medical expenses incurred under Aetna (January 1, 2023 – May 31, 2023) that have met towards the deductible and out of pocket requirements will be transferred over to Anthem and you will be eligible for deductible and out of pocket maximum credits for those expenses under Anthem. (This means that you will not have to start over on your deductible and out of pocket maximum requirements as you will receive a credit towards Anthem’s deductible and out of pocket maximum.) However, please note that it takes time for claims to be processed and for the deductible and out of pocket maximum credits to be applied to your account.
To ensure a smooth transition and accurate processing of claims, we kindly request your patience during this period. It is important to keep in mind that the processing of claims and the application of the deductible and out of pocket maximum credits may take some time. The exact timeframe can vary, but, typically, it can take a up to a few months for claims to be processed and for the deductible and out of pocket maximum credits to be reflected in your account.
If you received care towards the end of May, it is possible that your health care provider may not have submitted the claim in time to be included in the initial claims report. As a result, you may not see the deductible credit reflected in your account immediately.
Please keep the following information in mind:
- Claims Processing Time: Claims typically take some time to be processed and appear in your account. This process may involve verification, coordination between Aetna and Anthem, and other administrative procedures. We ask for your understanding and assure you that we are actively monitoring the process to ensure efficiency.
- Three-Month Deductible and Out of Pocket Maximum Credit Review: We advise you to keep track of your deductible and out of pocket maximum credits and review your account periodically. If you do not see the deductible and out of pocket maximum credits applied to your account after three months from the date you received care, please reach out to the HR department immediately at HR@lmu.edu. They will assist you in resolving any outstanding issues and ensure your deductible credit is accurately reflected.
