Angelina Lee, director of employer engagement for Career and Professional Development (CPD) at Loyola Marymount University, was named the second recipient of the MPACE Diversity and Inclusion Award at the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers annual December 2021 conference.
“Angelina is an amazing advocate and incredibly knowledgeable in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space,” said Espie Santiago, MPACE president. “She is very intentional about getting to know her colleagues in the region and learning more about MPACE. I have attended numerous professional development opportunities led by her for MPACE on topics including serving international students, DEI roundtables, and career center response to acts of violence and discrimination towards targeted groups. She is incredibly deserving of this award.”
Intended to address MPACE’s strategic priority on diversity and inclusion, the MPACE Diversity and Inclusion Award is given annually to the individual committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion through their work at their institution, MPACE, and the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
“I am so grateful and honored to receive this award,” Lee said. “It encourages me to continue the vital work of advocating for diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in higher education for our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and in the workplace.”
Lee added that she would like to dedicate her win to the CPD team, as it is a team effort to create intentionally inclusive, equitable, just, and accountable employer engagement strategies and communication.
Lee currently serves as staff president of the LMU Asian American and Pacific Islander Faculty and Staff Association and works with the executive board to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion at LMU with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and LGBTQ+ colleagues.
