The city of Los Angeles requires LMU staff and faculty to complete a yearly brief transportation survey, known as the AQMD survey, to measure how employee commutes affect local air quality. The university pays annual fees to the city to account for air quality impact; these fees can be greatly reduced if LMU achieves a 60% survey completion rate.
