LMU Facilities Management recently shared a series of repair and enhancement projects it will be conducting during the university’s winter closure.
All community members are encouraged to review the following schedule, and make proper arrangements for any work that will affect your area. Please pay particular attention to the campus-wide power outage that will occur on Saturday, Dec. 21.
Annual Fire Alarm Testing: Dec. 16 – 25
This annual REG 4 testing will include alarms, strobes, doors, and elevators. The testing will run campus-wide, in all university buildings.
Tree Trimming: Dec. 26 – 31
Campus tree trimming will be conducted along Loyola Boulevard, the campus perimeter, and the areas surrounding Sunken Garden and Sacred Heart Chapel. Please note that one lane of Loyola Blvd. will be closed to accommodate the trimming.
Parking Garage Sweeping and Pressure Washing: Dec. 21 – 27
All underground parking garages will be swept and cleaned.
Campus Power Outage: Dec. 21 between 6 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This power outage will be nearly campus wide, impacting all buildings except for University Hall, the LMU Children’s Center, and Hannon Apartments.
Bluff Tarping Ahead of Rainy Season: Dec. 16 – Jan. 2
As part of the larger bluff mitigation project, tarps will be installed along the bluff to prevent erosion during the winter rainy season.
Parking Lot Striping: Dec. 16 – Jan. 2
Campus parking lots and garages will have the paint delineating parking spaces restriped as needed.
