Carol Spahn, director of Peace Corps, and Michael Smith, CEO of AmeriCorps, will visit LMU as part of Career and Professional Development’s Social Impact Career Week. Spahn and Smith will reflect upon the special relationship their organizations share and recommit to offering to all citizens the most diverse and exciting service opportunities possible.
This is an opportunity to network with service alumni from each of these organizations who are doing amazing things in California. This is a celebration of service for all who have served and a call to service for those wanting to participate in the future. Returned Peace Corps volunteers and AmeriCorps alumni will describe their experiences and the skills gained, leading to meaningful educational and professional opportunities.
The event takes place Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. in the VDA Family Suite of William H. Hannon Library at LMU. Light refreshments will be served.
This program is open to all students, alumni, faculty and staff, community members and guests.
