We are excited to announce a partnership with America Media that provides all LMU students, faculty, and staff members with complimentary digital subscriptions. These subscriptions will grant unlimited access to America’s extensive collection of news articles, stories, podcasts, and videos.
America Media, the Jesuit media ministry, is the premier provider of editorial content for thoughtful Catholics and those interested in understanding Catholic perspectives. America’s contributors include prominent figures in the American Catholic Church — decision-makers and opinion leaders who shape the ecclesial and civic discussions on religion, society, politics, and the arts. Several LMU faculty members are regular America contributors, including Cecilia González-Andrieu, Amir Hussain, Allan Figueroa Deck, S.J., Thomas Rausch, S.J., and Jake Martin, S.J. Its flagship magazine, America, has been in continuous publication since 1909, making it one of the oldest periodicals in the United States today.
This announcement comes just in time for the LMU community to fully engage with America Media’s extensive and multi-platform coverage of the Conclave to elect the next pope. As the Conclave commences on May 7, editors from America magazine are present in Rome covering this significant event.
“Our partnership with America Media provides an exceptional opportunity for the LMU community, especially our students, to engage deeply with the Catholic Jesuit perspective on today’s most pressing issues,” says Fr. Marc Reeves, who helped spearhead the partnership. “By offering multimedia resources that encourage critical thinking and ethical reflection, this collaboration will help shape the next generation of thoughtful, values-driven leaders.”
