The Center for Ignatian Spirituality and The Center for Urban Resilience invite you all to a virtual tour of Ballona Discovery Park next Tuesday, August 25, from 1-2 p.m. As a fine change from our current stay-at-home mode, come along for a guided tour of this beautiful, full-of-life park.
The park is a two-acre model of a watershed with certified gardens and wildlife habitat including Southern California native plants traditionally used by the Chumash, Tongva and Cahuilla Indian tribes for their healing properties. Ballona Discovery Park is directly below the LMU Bluff, and serves as an outdoor laboratory, meeting place, and a space for individual and communal spiritual reflection.
President’s Professor Eric Strauss, Ph.D., the Executive Director of LMU’s Center for Urban Resilience, and Lisa Fimiani, the Program Director of CURes, will be our guides. Fr. Randy Roche, SJ, Director of the Center for Ignatian Spirituality, will be our special guest host.
To RSVP please send an email to CURes@lmu.edu
