A prayer for the victims and for all those adversely impacted by the Monterey Park mass shooting:
God of Life and Goodness,
open our eyes to see clearly this world of ours
in all of its beauty, and in all of its sufferings.
Help us in times like these
to have the courage to look at the pain and loss of life
brought about by a senseless act of violence.
Help us to see the hope that you offer:
Our hope that love conquers sin and death;
Our hope that goodness prevails over evil;
Our hope that the bonds of life and of the human family
transcend forces that may try to separate us.
We turn to you, O God of Life and of all Goodness, in our hour of need.
Gather us and our prayers together
with those prayers offered by all people
throughout our LMU community and our city, nation, and world.
Bind us together as one people
to remember your children who were lost or injured.
Comfort all those who mourn the loss of loved ones now and forever.
Hear this prayer as we send it along with those
of all peace-loving people.
