The Cabinet Associates Program is dedicated to developing and sustaining a high quality of leadership that is central to Loyola Marymount University’s mission and goals. The program is a competitive appointment that provides opportunities for faculty and staff members to explore approaches to leadership in executive-level higher education administration and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) lens on issues in higher education. The year-long program combines mentoring and learning in a formal curriculum with real-life experiences, including placement in one of LMU’s divisions: Academic Affairs; Administration and Finance; Athletics; Intercultural Affairs; Loyola Law School; Marketing, Communications, and External Relations; Mission and Ministry, Student Affairs, and; University Advancement. Associates work on special projects and activities identified by LMU Cabinet mentors, attend meetings and events, and participate in monthly leadership development workshops.
