Join us in honoring the powerful stories that shape our community at First-Gen Origin Stories, a special event recognizing both the roots and the future of first-generation student support at LMU.
This celebration will highlight Dr. La’Tonya Rease Miles—founder of the First To Go Program—and her newly released book, Smart Girl: A First-Gen Origin Story.
Hosted in the William H. Hannon Library—the heart of LMU storytelling and community gathering—we’ll also mark 15 years of First To Go uplifting first-generation students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and accomplices on campus. Together, we’ll reflect on the program’s footprint, celebrate its people, and imagine the stories still to come.
This event is open to all members of the LMU community and our extended First To Go family and friends. Come for the stories, stay for the community, and help us celebrate this milestone moment. Register here.
