LMU Loyola Law School last week continued its partnership with renowned nonprofit attorney practice-services provider CEB: Continuing Education of the Bar to honor top legal writing students during a ceremony held at the law school campus.
Professor David King ’07 convened the law school’s fourth-annual CEB Awards for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing on Tuesday, August 30, in a ceremony honoring the best brief writers from the prior academic year’s first-year Legal Research and Writing classes.
“As a legal research and writing professor, I can tell you that this subject is incredibly competitive,” said King. “All of you recognized as finalists for your legal research and writing sections should be very honored to be the top brief for your section.”
The ceremony included recognition of the top plaintiff and defendant briefs, written by students Melanie Aghayane and Stephanie Myers respectively.
Finalists for the award, the highest scoring Graded III brief writers in their respective Legal Research and Writing sections, were Anja Alexander, Katherine Andreeff, Jake Carlis, Liliana Cerros, Sarah Cook, Sharra Duggan, Violet Flocks, Holmes Hampton, Dante Matera, Mary Muradyants, Stephanie Myers, Jennifer Oh, Makayla Rabago, Arianna Razi, Adam Reese, and Courtney Schwan.
Alumni panelists and judges who volunteered as part of the evaluation process included Andrew Beshai ’15, Jon Bremen ’19, Andy Jinnah ’13, Julien Kacou ’17, Sara Kornblatt ’08, and Elena Sadowsky ’14.
