LMU Requires COVID-19 Vaccinations for Students in Fall 2021

Loyola Marymount University will require undergraduate, graduate, and law students to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to return to its three campuses for the fall semester.

In a message to the LMU Community, President Timothy Law Snyder and Executive Vice President and Provost Thomas Poon explained, “The sooner we all get vaccinated, the sooner we can end the pandemic and regain our communal college experiences.”

LMU will allow exceptions on a case-by-case basis for students with qualifying medical or religious reasons. Where exceptions are granted, the university may require additional COVID-19 testing, social and access restrictions, quarantining, and other requirements or limitations.

Vaccines are widely available in L.A. County and the City of Los Angeles, and LMU will assist students who have not received vaccines in their home locations with scheduling vaccinations locally.

The university also requires vaccinations for measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR).  Vaccinations such as those for the seasonal flu, chicken pox, meningitis and others are strongly encouraged.
