Terry McCarthy, president and CEO of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council and an award-winning former foreign correspondent, will discuss U.S.-Asia relations under the Trump administration on Monday, April 10, at Loyola Marymount University.
McCarthy will focus on emerging U.S. policy toward Asia, both economic and security; who will set the rules for trade in Asia – the United States or China; and the economies to watch in Asia, among other issues.
Before his July 2012 appointment as president and CEO of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, McCarthy traveled the world for television and print media for 27 years. He has managed bureaus in the United States and overseas, and established two bureaus in war zones. He speaks six languages, and has won four Emmys and an Edward R. Murrow award.
The event is sponsored by the College of Business Administration’s Center for Asian Business and the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts’ International Relations Program.
