Loyola Marymount University is No. 3 among the best regional universities in the west, according to the latest edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges, released on Tuesday.
“Loyola Marymount is an incredible place of higher learning, and we’re pleased to see that confirmed by the latest U.S. News & World Report ranking,” said LMU President Timothy Law Snyder, Ph.D. “No such ‘best of’ list could fully encapsulate what it means to be part of this university, but we’re proud to be recognized in this way.”
LMU’s undergraduate business programs improved their rankings in the annual list. The Entrepreneurship specialty is now ranked No. 7 nationwide; Marketing is 14; and the Accounting program is ranked 19.
The Seaver College of Science and Engineering moved up to No. 28 in the category of Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at schools where no doctorate is offered.
Additionally, LMU was included on two of the publication’s other lists, including Best Value (ranked No. 15) and Best Colleges for Veterans, where LMU came in at No. 3.
The U.S. News report is only the latest college ranking list that singles LMU out for distinction. This summer, Forbes ranked LMU in the top ten percent of four-year colleges nationwide. Also, the Princeton Review included the university in three categories of its annual Best Colleges book, including Most Beautiful Campus, Happiest Students, and Students Most Engaged in Community Service.
