Loyola Law School Leaps in This Year's National Rankings

Loyola Law School this year achieved its highest ever placement in U.S. News & World Report’s annual rating of graduate programs, ranking 56 of 188 accredited law schools.

The highly regarded tax law program at Loyola Law again scored in the top 10, ranking ninth, while the evening division placed 16th.  Loyola ranked eighth in the diversity of its student body in the magazine’s 2011 “Best Graduate Schools” edition, which was published this week.

“The improvement reflects the high quality of our students, alumni, and overall academic program,” said Dean Victor Gold, noting that Loyola jumped 15 spots this year. “I am especially pleased to see the recognition given to our tax law faculty.”

Loyola’s tax law program celebrates the 10th anniversary of its L.L.M. degree with an awards ceremony Friday, April 16.

U.S. News & World Report ratings are based on data collected in the fall of 2009 and early 2010. Rankings of tax programs are based on evaluations from professors in the field. More information is available at www.usnews.com.

Loyola Law School, in downtown Los Angeles, is a division of Loyola Marymount University.
