A celebration of “Midrashic Mirrors” will include live music, posters, original artwork and a panel that will illuminate the three-year process of text study, art making and writing done by a Torah study group of nine women.
The event takes place April 6, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at LMU’s McIntosh Center, 1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles. It highlights the the publication of the book, “Midrashic Mirrors: Creating Holiness in Imagery and Intimacy,” by Debra Linesch, professor and chair of the Department of Marital and Family Therapy on April 6.
A Klezmer group enlivens the celebration with music and an interfaith, interdisciplinary panel will reflect on how the creative process enhances a search for spiritual meaning within Judaism.
The speakers will include Bryant Alexander, dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts at LMU, as well as the author Debra Linesch. Live music by Extreme Klezmer Makeover.
