Three graduate schools at Loyola Marymount University improved their rankings in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 edition of Best Graduate Schools, with Loyola Law School and the School of Education strengthening their standings by three places, and the College of Business Administration seeing its part-time M.B.A. program leap six slots.
Loyola Law is now ranked 51st out of 195 law schools, achieving its highest mark ever on the list. Loyola was ranked in the top 10 in two specialty categories: seventh for trial advocacy and 10th for tax law. The school’s Evening Division Program is ranked No. 18 among part-time programs – up 12 positions from the 2012 edition. And Loyola is ranked No. 21 for legal writing and No. 21 on the diversity index.
The School of Education is listed 83rd out of the 280 graduate schools of education surveyed for the report, making it the fourth-highest ranked Jesuit institution. In the past two years, the School of Education has vaulted 48 positions.
The College of Business Administration is ranked No. 44 among part-time M.B.A. programs.
The rankings by U.S. News & World Report are based on a combination of quantifiable data, such as incoming student grades and test scores, and survey responses from faculty and administrators at colleges and universities around the country. LMU overall is ranked fourth in the category “Best Regional Universities (West).” The overall rankings are released each summer.
