The Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering at Loyola Marymount University moved into the top 30 engineering schools for undergraduates in the 2012 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges.”
Seaver College moved up four spots from the 2011 rankings, and is ranked 27th among the schools in its category, “engineering schools whose highest degree is a bachelor’s or a master’s.”
“We are a school that places a high value on small class size and individualized attention with hands-on projects and laboratory work for our undergraduates,” said Richard G. Plumb, dean of Seaver College.
Seaver College enrolls more than 1,000 undergraduate students in the sciences, with 360 of those currently majoring in an engineering field. The college offers degrees in civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
“It is rewarding for all of us at Seaver to see our hard work and strengths acknowledged by the U.S. News survey,” Plumb said. “This ranking reflects our dedication to teaching, research and academic excellence.”
